Some Good Funding News for the Prostate Cancer Community

The US Congress has just published the proposed Omnibus Budget for 2016. The good news is that the proposed budget includes the restoration of the 13.2 million dollars to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)  for Prostate Cancer Prevention and Education and it also includes 80 million dollars for the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program.   Malecare  acknowledges all the hard work that Malecare Patient Action Leaders put into restoring the CDC funding.  You are all amazing. CDC Funding For Prostate Cancer Saved

The line item for FY 2016 CDC prostate cancer funding of $13,205,000 is restored in both the House and Senate appropriations bills, as authored by their committees.  Thanks to the several thousand of you who responded to Malecare's call to action and wrote emails and letters to the Congressional House and Senate Budget Committee.  Since both the House and Senate committee bills restore funding, as best as we understand, there will be no conference discussion, nor is it likely to be debated by the full House or Senate.  Only a new amendment by the full committee could alter this outcome, and that [...]
